cubs facing cain

Published by kevinryan12 at 11:18 pm under In-Game Thread Edit This

The Chicago Cubs are playing their second of four games against the San Francisco Giants tonight.   They currently trail 1-0 in the top of the fourth inning.  Cain has pitched well all year but has failed to get the run support that can help him win games.  By the looks of it tonight, the trend may continue.  The Giants have scored the only run so far tonight on a steal of home.  Soto was trying to throw out the runner at second but somehow forgot there was a man on third.  With the throw to second, the runner was safe and the runner at third was able to get a good enough jump to steal home without a throw from the second baseman.

Cubs failed to bring Lee home in the fourth as Lee led off the inning with a walk.  We are getting the base runners tonight, we just aren’t getting the runs.  Marquis seems to be pitching well, allowing only one hit in three innings so far.

It seems like we are in for a long night.  Go Cubs.
