Busch Stadium
The Cubs are heading over to Busch Stadium in St. Louis. It’s only appropriate that I add some pictures from a trip to the New Busch Stadium.
I visited Busch Stadium when it first opened in 2006. I went to a Cubs/Cardinals series in April. Overall, I must say the stadium is pretty cool. I had never been to the original Busch Stadium so I guess I don’t have much to compare this one to. However, I thought the park was very well designed and I especially found the backdrop of the city and Arch to be really nice. For as much as I want to hate on Cardinal fans, I must say they were some of the nicest people I have met from all of my baseball adventuring. I mean, I was standing there in a Cubs jersey, being very loud but the fans just kind of laughed and talked baseball with me. I feel like that wouldn’t really happen at Wrigley Field had the roles been reversed (well, maybe not in the bleachers…).
Anyhow, the ballpark was really nice, the food was great and there was just an overall very friendly atmosphere. Head on out there sometime if you get the chance. Oh yeah, and the Cubs all time record at New Busch Stadium? 13-11. Not counting that awful 2006 season? They are 10-5. All the more reason to love the new Busch Stadium.
Go Cubs!
