Rain, rain, go away: six games MLB games postponed; Cubs-Astros in Milwaukee?

Published by kevinryan12 at 10:56 pm under Misc Edit This

There really isn’t much to write about from the baseball world today.  It’s been a very bad day for baseball in general as there were six games that were postponed tonight.  It seems like all of the games that were postponed were all games that were very significant in the pennant races.  It’s kind of ironic.  The following games were all postponed tonight due to rain:

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Tampa Bay Rays @ New York Yankees
Minnesota Twins @ Baltimore Orioles
Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Milwaukee Brewers @ Philadelphia Phillies
Atlanta Braves @ New York Mets
Chicago Cubs @ Houston Astros*

(*Cubs/Astros postponed due to Hurricane Ike)

All of the American League games have been rescheduled as part of a day/night doubleheader on Saturday.  As for the National League, the Cubs/Astros series is still up in the air pending the effect of Hurricane Ike.  The Mets/Braves game will be made-up on Saturday as part of a day/night doubleheader.  Milwaukee and Philadelphia make up their game as part of a day/night doubleheader on Sunday.

Go Cubs!

***LATE EDIT:  Just read a story that was just posted to MLB.com .  The Cubs-Astros series may be made up in Milwaukee on Sunday and Monday.  More information to come later.
