ALCS Continued
Tonight, the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Boston Red Sox in eleven innings. The Rays won on a sacrifice fly by B.J. Upton to tie the series 1-1. It was a high scoring game that finished 9-8 with a total of seven home runs hit.
I will have to go along with some of the people who are commenting. I think the Rays have an incredible team and I really hope they do win. Sure, while I understand that it would be even more frustrating for a Cubs fan to see yet another expansion team win a World Series, Cubs fans are going to be made fun of regardless.
Speaking of the Cubs, a few friends came to town tonight and wanted to hang out. We wound up walking around Wrigley Field somehow and I must say it was a pretty depressing scene. While there were tons of people in the bars watching the ALCS, it just felt depressing to know that the Cubs could have been in the NLCS themselves. It was sad to see all of the flags taken down and to see all of the ticket booth windows with the “CLOSED” sign in the window. One thing that we did not see yet was the update on the “EAMUS CATULI” sign. It still reads 006299 but it’s going to have a new panel very soon as it should read 0063100.
If you follow the Cubs and are a good fan, I’m sure you know what I am talking about.

I’ve decided I’m a rays fan officially til the end of the postseason.
Are they going to put a new panel on the sign? I’m not sure what would be more depressing, that, or if they just rolled the number over to double 0’s with the 63 sitting in the middle.
-sigh- that’s one reason I’d be fine with just getting to the world series!
You see the latest SNL about the debates? Bill Murray makes an appearance, and they bash on the cubs a bit, and the look on Murray’s face just sums it up perfectly.
