Chicago Cubs news 1/6/09

Published by kevinryan12 at 12:10 pm under off season Edit This

Here is all the latest that I have heard from today:

-The Cubs are getting close to naming a new owner of the team.  The field has been narrowed to about three candidates and there should be some announcment before Opening Day 2009.

-It was announced that Milton Bradley has agreed to a 3 year, $30 million deal with the Cubs.  The acquisition of Bradley is supposed to be the Cubs’ answer to acquiring a left handed bat.

-The Cubs are still waiting to announce a move involving Jason Marquis.  It is expected that he will be sent to the Colorado Rockies for Luis Vizcaino.  The announcment is expected to be made later today.
